COVID-19 Policies: Updated 5/27/20

At PetSafe® Village (“PSV”), our top priority is your pet’s safety which we deliver through the extraordinary group of talented professionals who make up our team.  According to the Center for Disease Control (“CDC”) there is no evidence that animals play a significant role in spreading COVID-19. While the risk of animals spreading COVID-19 to humans is considered low PSV will take extreme caution during daily operations due to the high traffic of pets we see daily.


In order to protect pets, pet parents and our dedicated teammates, we are taking the following steps. 


  • Following Center for Disease Control (“CDC”) recommendations as well as local health guidelines on the best practices for mitigating risk.

  • Providing hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes in break rooms, lobby and throughout facility.

  • Continue to follow industry best standards of cleanliness throughout our facility which includes disinfecting all suites and common areas on a nightly basis.

  • Self-bathing station is closed until further notice.

  • Facility tours will not be available to the public.

  • Training classes will be scheduled as allowed.


Reservation Policies:

  • Lobby hours:

    • Monday-Friday, 7:00am-6:30pm. *For all services. After-hours service available outside of regular lobby hours for $15 fee.

  • Curbside check-in/out for all services. When you arrive go to to check-in/out.

  • Upon check-in PetSafe Village teammates will retrieve your pet from your vehicle with their own slip leashes. Pet parents will be asked to remove their own leashes, collars, and harnesses. For the safety of your pet we ask that you allow PSV teammates to retrieve your pet directly from your vehicle.

  • All customers must wear cloth face covering during all in-person interaction with PSV teammates. Please limit bringing people with you at check-in/out. ALL individuals in your vehicle that will be interacting with PSV teammates must wear face covering (including children over the age of 2).

  • All pets will be screened for exposure at check-in. Has the pet had any exposure to a person with suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19? If yes, this pet will not be accepted until the person’s fever (defined as ≥ 100.4°F) is absent for at least 72 hours without the use of fever reducing medication, other symptoms have improved, and at least 7 days have passed since symptom onset.

  • Customers should not visit facility in any capacity if they or anyone in their household is a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 until the person’s fever (defined as ≥ 100.4°F) is absent for at least 72 hours without the use of fever reducing medication, other symptoms have improved, and at least 7 days have passed since symptom onset . 

  • Customers should not visit facility in any capacity if they or anyone in their household has had a fever (defined as ≥ 100.4°F) within the past 24 hours.

  • Customers that are returning from international travel are only allowed to check-out their pets, however it is recommended that you have another family member pick up your pet for you. All check-ins should be after the 14-day isolation period has ended  .

  • No personal pet belongings (beds, toys, dishes, leashes, collars, etc.) will be allowed in the facility except food and medication. *PSV bedding and toys available upon request.

  • Cash payments will not be accepted. Credit card payment only. If you have a card on file this will be charged upon check-out (any packages will be applied first). If you do not have a credit card on file our team will contact you for payment by phone.


Policies for Teammates:

  • Daily health screenings before every shift.

  • Cloth face covering (Not M95 or medical mask, which should be reserved for medical personnel) must be worn during all in-person contact with customers. Must also be worn during all in-person contact with teammates anytime 6-foot social distancing is not possible.

  • No sharing of workspace, when possible.

  • Frequent hand washing with soap and water for 20 seconds.

  • Sanitize high touch areas frequently:

    • Counters, ipads, workstations, door handles, rest rooms, break rooms, food cart, etc.

  • Sanitize workstations (computers, ipads, writing utensils, etc.) at the beginning and ending of each shift.

  • You will notice our team will be happy to see you and your pet, but we will be less affectionate to your fur kid. We’ll be avoiding snuggling, excessive petting, and kissing pets. Yes, this will be difficult for us, but don’t worry we’ll still give lots of love. Treats anyone?

  • Shifts and breaks will be staggered in order to maintain social distancing.

  • Congregating in break rooms or common areas is prohibited. Capacity of such areas is limited to allow for safe social distancing.


You will also notice the following changes to our facility:

  • Plexi-glass protection installed at front desk.

  • Signs, prompts and floor decals for social distancing guidelines.

  • Signs in parking lot and entryway instructing customer to stay in vehicle and complete online check-in/out forms.

  • Front doors designation as entrance and exit for one-way traffic.
